Blog 73. Raining season bad luck.
22-10-2025
The first day of the new school year started with some challenges! The rainy season is slowly coming to its peak, which means that the roads are starting to get very bad. After consulting with Richard, I decided to take the short route to Kori, where I pick up Gilbert. Unfortunately, that wasn't really a good choice... I wasn't even halfway on a not really good road when I saw a perfect piece of road. Yippee!
Unfortunately, the 4 wheels were on this perfect piece of road and I got stuck. It is not very clear on the photos, but driving was no longer possible.
Fortunately, I live in Ghana. Within 5 seconds, the local residents came to help. Even Lois' father came to help. Which in itself was very funny, because he sees us, brings his mother and Lois to the pick-up point (turn left) and then he comes back to pass his house with his 2 other children to help us!
With united forces they got the bus out of the mud! An hour late I arrive at the bus station where I also have to pick up a number of children: There somebody said: ‘You have a flat tire!’ So we went to the vulcanisor to get that fixed…
At 11 o'clock we finally arrived safely at school!
(The truck on the pictures was stuck inside the water for two days. When they finally got it out the front wheels were facing each other. The front axle was totally broken!)
