Blog 74 Awa (our) day

In Ghana, when the academic year closes, the children party. They bring extra nice food, sweets, or lemonade. The day goes by with eating. It is even proven (as far as I know, for sure in Sandema) that children are taken to hospital afterwards. Some sweets are over the expiring date, but the merchants still sell them, and the children fall sick.

Not in our case! I am happy with that. What they all brought!!!! It was amazing. Even so it was an amazing day.

The class was prepared already. We were seated in small groups. In front we put all the food and drinks we had on display. We normally breakfast in school, so that is what we did. The children could choose what they wanted to eat. (food, no sweets 😊)

Then we played different games together: tug of war, walking with an egg on a spoon, and throwing a ball against empty cans. It was a lot of fun as you can see on the pictures.

My two friends came to celebrate with us: Angelina and Cecilia. Angelina prepared pobbela for lunch. My favourite! IMmmmmmm!

It was a great day. Now we can really enjoy the vacation!
