Blog 72 Plowing

At the beginning of the raining season, the soil has to be ploughed. For this, the ground must first be prepared; stones off, old stalks of millet off and large bunches of weeds removed. Under the guidance of Kojo, Akanzeriba and Adawen from the workshop, Arafat, Asiuk and David from the school did that.

David stood there and watched.... After 5 minutes he had to go to the toilet, and he stayed there for a very long time. Then he sat down on the veranda; out of sight. He still needs a bit of work on his working posture!

When the tractor arrived, the price had to be negotiated. That's the custom. Because I am white, there is regularly over-asking. But this is really over-asking!!!. The owner of the tractor asked 3000 Ghc.

Because I know little about prices, I leave the negotiation to Kojo. Kojo said that this was really too much, but also did not know the right price. So I called Richard: 300 GHc is more than enough. The negotiations really went from 3000 to 2500, 2000 and so on. But in the end Kojo said: 300, or else not. And luckily the man agreed!

For the children, and also for me, this was a wonderful 'performance!
