blog 77 Birthday Richard

On October 3th Richard has his birthday. It is not really a tradition to celebrate birthdays here. But, of course, we did!

After lunch we all went very silently to the Community Based Workshop to surprise Richard. When he came out, we sang Happy Birthday for him. After the first couplet the second couplet is a question: How old are you now. The birthday boy has to sing the 3rd chorus: I am ... years old. And than we sing: May God bless you now. You can imagine tat this takes a while!

When we came back in class, we danced. Godfred, Richard and Margreet drummed, and the children and the rest of the staff danced.

After a nice lemonade we closed the day!
