88 A wonderful day

The day was going to be as a ‘normal’ day. The only thing was that two staff members were not able to come. No problem. With a bit of adjustment, it would not be a problem. Then, we also heard that a third staff member was not coming. Ai…. that was a problem.

We decided to try our best and make it a fun day: for the children and ourselves: Paul took over Mary’s group. He taught the phonics, reading and writing. Kojo and Margreet took over Godfred’s group. They started out with playing on the floor and getting fuel at the fuel station.

Then, Asianab picked the fire brigade truck! That was really fun! So we called all the children: Kojo started a fire in class and Asianab was the fireman who needed to put out the fire. In the mean time we discussed the fire brigade, what the emergency number in Ghana is, and what to do when there is a fire in the house. Next week we will talk about what a fire needs to burn.

And we closed the day at a restaurant: we went to Sandema Community Centre to have a delicious meal with a drink!
